WHAT 'THE POETRY SLAM
A new way of presenting poetry but this was very old: bards, troubadours, combats ... The shape is modern, 3 minutes of poetry voice, essential, without formal limits, most memorable. A show that involves a wide audience, like a concert or a play, occupying public spaces and involving the present. This is why the public to vote and decide the winner by a jury drawn.
The rules are codified, the Poetry Slam is similar to a sport / game literature, where the emphasis is on the poetic voice, and fundamental, most of the victory, is the sharing of artistic experience.
HISTORY
The poetry slam was born in the USA in the 80s by the poet Marc Kelly Smith. A few years passed and the slam ramp, in the rest of the world, an urban phenomenon. Each country puts it in a national tradition and territorial, sometimes adapting it. In Paris, for example, is confused with the rap of the banlieues, a poet as Grand Corp Malade has become a musical star of his country. In Italy the discipline comes in the 90's through events like Rome Poetry. A novelty that only now is spreading to other centers, thanks to the work of poets and associations. It is essential that opens to an increasingly diverse and respect the basic rules. This is what I want to do total poetry.
THE BASIC RULES
The poems are presented on any subject and can also be submitted in other languages \u200b\u200bor dialects, In this case there will be a translation on paper. The poet
participant in a space of 3 minutes, (which can be repeated, with qualifying rounds, from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 / 5 times). The poem must be unpublished, can only be read by the author and without props. Must emerge and must be observed for pure voice talent and originality.
If the poet goes over 3 minutes of meeting a penalty score.
A jury of five elements extracted from the public will vote by expressing the grades from 1 to 10. The highest and lowest are discarded.
slam winner is the one who scored more points in the final round.
PRESELEZIONE dell’organizzazione
Viste le numerose richieste di partecipazione e non potendo ancora contare su gironi eliminatori, i poeti vengono selezionati attraverso invio delle loro poesie (anche in formato audio o video). Per tale selezione, che garantisce il buon livello dei partecipanti, viene emesso un bando nazionale. I poeti selezionati saranno 12/14 circa.
LUOGO E ATTREZZATURA
Gli slam estivi vengono fatti di solito nelle piazze, è necessario un palco e un microfono con un tabellone per i punti. Con sedie per il pubblico. Il presentatore (lo slam master) condurrà l’evento coadiuvato da un cronometrista. In caso di luoghi chiusi anche le caffetterie possono essere adatte, ma con una sala riservata e senza passaggio interno. Ottimi i teatri e i saloni per le feste.

ORGANIZZAZIONE: POESIA TOTALE
Poesia Totale è una rassegna indipendente di poesia e arte contemporanea diretta dal poeta e scrittore Max Ponte. Ha realizzato vari poetry slam e attività letterarie a Torino e in Piemonte. Max Ponte è stato fra i primi a portare il poetry slam nella sua città attraverso competizioni nazionali ed internazionali. Conduce Each year the Xmaslam, "the grand slam of the national Christmas, now in its fourth edition and included in the media as Radio Rai 3 (see interviews on the site).
SLAM THE MASTER
The slam master, that is, the tenant is committed to animate the race in a dynamic way, taking care of the succession of poets of the time trial and trying to involve the public. His comments will be impartial and to stimulate and to assess the poets. The atmosphere we want is to create a democratic sharing of experience and criticism of poetry. The objective then entertain and bring to poetry as a common heritage, to be explored and discussed after the race. What that invariably takes place through exchange of views, materials and new appointments for poets and those who follow them.

The poetry slam is a show that can be inserted in various cultural events for communities, organizations, associations, clubs and libraries. And at shows, festivals and parties. There are no restrictions (either the language or dialect) and the event is of course close to any audience, even away from the literary interests.
